In his first season in the 450SX class, Max Anstie has put his Twisted Tea HEP Suzuki in all five main events, progressing to his career-best finish at Arlington 3 on Saturday.

Before the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season, the last time Anstie lined up for a Supercross race was in 2013. After a lengthy campaign in the MXGP series, Anstie returned to the United States for the 2020 Pro Motocross season.

The British rider was set to line up at the opening round of the 2021 Supercross season in Houston, but an off-season injury delayed his start to Orlando 2.

Impressive in his debut, he’s managed to make all five main events so far, marking his season-best in the last of three rounds at AT&T Stadium in Arlington with a 13th place finish on the night.

“We had a good three races here in Arlington,” Anstie said. “Today, we had our best heat race. I had a really good start and ended up seventh. I battled with some really good guys.

“And then in the main, I was strong. I kept pushing and I probably had some of the best rhythm section technique that I’ve had for a while. We made progress, I learned a lot in these last three races and I’m looking forward to going back and doing some work for the next three weeks and getting ready for Atlanta.”

With the three-week break ahead, Anstie goes into the layoff with plenty of momentum to continue building speed in preparation to continue living the dream he reflected on following making his first 450SX main event.

“It was a dream to ride into the stadium with the best supercross riders in the world,” he said following Orlando 2. “I came into this race without much preparation time so to leave with some points on the board and laps under my belt was all I could ask for.”
