Adapting quickly to Monster Energy Supercross, 250SX rookie Seth Hammaker is now looking to land on the podium consistently as the series closes out.

The Monster Energy Pro Circuit rider showed great speed in the opening two races of the 250SX West championship, qualifying up front and recording solid laps in the races.

But it wasn’t until the first of three Arlington races that he would secure his first podium, doing so with a win at AT&T Stadium. After a tough break with 11th place at Arlington 2, he again found the podium on Saturday, taking third place in the main event at Arlington 3.

“[My] speed has been pretty good,” said Hammaker. “I’ve been qualifying good and I would say from here on out I just want to be on the podium and stay consistent for the rest of the season.”

With two podiums under his belt and a handful of rookie learning experiences to draw on, the 20-year-old is looking to become a consistent podium finisher going forward. He now sits sixth overall in the championship, just 20 points back from points leader Justin Cooper.

“I had a couple of inconsistent races,” he continued, “Daytona and on Tuesday at Arlington 2, but other than that I’ve been pretty consistent and I feel like if I get on the box and top fives, I’ll keep climbing up in the points a little bit. Just going to show up every weekend and fall into place where we do.”

The series now takes a break for the next two weekends before returning action for a three-race residency at Atlanta Motor Speedway starting 10 April.
