250SX West qualifying:
Once again the fastest qualifier on the day in the 250SX West class was Justin Cooper (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha), who is four for four in qualifying in 2021. Cooper was the only rider in the 51s range with his 51.769s setting the bar. Second place was last week’s winner, rookie Seth Hammaker (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) who clocked a 52.402. His teammate and red plate holder Cameron McAdoo was third fastest, with Hunter Lawrence (Team Honda HRC) and Garrett Marchbanks (ClubMX Yamaha) rounding out the top five. Sixth was Jalek Swoll who was the first rider in the 53s range with rookie Nate Thrasher carrying momentum from his first top-five on Saturday to qualify seventh. The final three spots in the top ten went to Kyle Peters (Phoenix Honda), Jordon Bailey (Yamaha) and Chris Blose (GasGas). Alex Martin (Yamaha) was 13th, with Stilez Robertson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) just behind in 14th.

450SX qualifying:
Bouncing back from an eighth-place finish at Arlington 1 to top qualifying at Arlington 2 was Eli Tomac (Monster Energy Kawasaki). Tomac was fastest in both sessions and was the only rider to put himself in the 50s range, his 50.903s lap setting the benchmark for the field. Second place went was Justin Barcia (TLD Red Bull GasGas) who was just 0.283s off Tomac’s time, with red plate holder Cooper Webb (Red Bull KTM) behind him in third. Fourth was Team Honda HRC’s Ken Roczen with a 51.434s lap while Jason Anderson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) rounded out the top five. Sixth was Chase Sexton (Team Honda HRC), with Joey Savatgy (Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM) being the first rider in the 52s range in seventh. Eighth went to Dylan Ferrandis (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha), who crashed hard ending his second qualifying session early. The final two spots in the top ten went to Malcolm Stewart (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha) and Dean Wilson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna).

250SX West heat 1:
The first holeshot of the night went to last week’s winner Hammaker with Lawrence, Swoll, Blose, and Frye in tow. A second turn pile-up started by Cody Schock collected a group of riders early on, allowing Hammaker to settle into a two-second lead just three laps in, with Lawrence and Swoll rounding out the top three with three minutes to go. Jarrett Frye was running fifth until the last lap, but what seemed to be bike issues dropped him outside of the top nine. Lawrence closed in on Hammaker in the closing lap but it was Hammaker taking the win. Lawrence came across the line second followed by Swoll, Blose, and Robertson closing out the top five. Sixth went to Robbie Wageman (Yamaha) with Carson Mumford (Honda), Peters, and Enzo Lopes (Honda) rounding out the final transfer spots.

250SX West heat 2:
Grabbing the holeshot was Justin Cooper followed by McAdoo, Mitchell Harrison (Muc-Off Honda), Thrasher, and Marchbanks. Cooper has a moment in the whoops and is passed by McAdoo and Marchbanks on the opening lap. A few laps later McAdoo had stretched out a two-second lead, as Cooper began to pressure Marchbanks for second. Smith worked his way into sixth around halfway after a rough start. Around the same time, with two minutes to go, Cooper got around Marchbanks and set out to try to catch McAdoo in the lead. With lap times around one second faster, Cooper pulled the gap down to around a half-second but was just a touch too late, McAdoo going on to win with Cooper second. Third went to Marchbanks with Thrasher and Smith rounding out the top five. Harrison took sixth with Jace Owen (Yamaha), Ramyller Alves (Husqvarna), and Jordan Bailey (Yamaha) taking the final transfer spots.

450SX heat 1:
The first 450 holeshot of the night went to Plessinger with Sexton alongside him. Roczen was third, with Barcia and Ferrandis in the top five. Plessinger took off early on, as Barcia and Roczen begin to swap positions in the second lap. Roczen settled back into third for a handful of laps, but Barcia managed to find his way by with two minutes left in the race. Out front Sexton reeled in Plessinger with just over a minute to go, bringing Barcia along with him as Roczen slipped a few seconds back. On the final lap Sexton attempted to make a move but it didn’t play out and Plessinger takes the checkers with Sexton and Barcia just behind in the top three. Fourth went to Roczen with Ferrandis in fifth followed by Justin Bogle (Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM) and Kyle Chisholm (Yamaha). The final two transfer spots went to Tyler Bowers (Kawasaki) and Joan Cros (Kawasaki). Dean Wilson had been running inside the transfer spots, but an issue with his rear wheel put him on the ground in the final lap.

450SX heat 2:
The final heat race holeshot of the night went to Webb, with Kevin Moranz (KTM) Stewart, Justin Starling (KTM), and Savatgy. Tomac was in the back half of the top 10 off the start but made quick work of those in front of him to get into third within a half of a lap. The top five after one were Webb, Stewart, Tomac, Moranz, and Tickle. Tomac found the back of Stewart, as Webb had stretched out a three-second lead, Tomac making the pass for second with three minutes to go. Around that time, Anderson recovering from a dismal start finally worked his way into the transfer positions. Tomac didn’t manage to make a dent in Webb’s lead despite setting the fastest lap of the race, Webb grabbing the win with Tomac and Stewart in the top three. Savatgy took fourth with Davalos in fifth. Sixth was Broc Tickle (MotoConcepts Honda) followed by his teammate Vince Friese. Anderson managed eighth and the last transfer spot was Max Anstie (Twisted Tea HEP Suzuki) in ninth. Moranz missed the transfer by one position and heads to the LCQ.

250SX West LCQ:
Taking the holeshot was Schock, Hardy Munoz (ClubMX Yamaha) Ty Masterpool (GasGas), and Dominique Thury (Yamaha). Munoz grabbed the lead but a mistake slips him back to third. After a lap it was Schock, Thury, Munoz, and Masterpool in the transfer spots, with Cedric Soubeyras and Frye on the bubble. Munoz’s issues continued as Soubeyras and Hicks got by, while Frye hit the ground dropping outside of the top 15. Hicks was running fifth and hit the ground in the whoops, giving Soubeyras breathing room, but Munoz started to close on the final transfer spot. With two laps to go, Schock, Thury, and Masterpool were running a solid pace out front, five seconds ahead of Soubeyras who had stretched out a significant lead over Munoz. A mistake by Schock in the whoops allowed Thury to close and subsequently make the pass to take the win. Schock, Masterpool, and Soubeyras rounded out the top four, all punching their tickets to the main event.

450SX LCQ:
Moranz grabs the holeshot with Brandon Hartranft (Twisted Tea HEP Suzuki), Starling, and Wilson in the top four. Ronnie Stewart (GasGas) got around Wilson and put him into fifth for a moment, but Wilson got back around quickly. After three laps it was Moranz, Starling, Hartranft, and Wilson, with Wilson quickly getting around Hartranft in the lap that followed. Wilson eventually got around both riders ahead of him to assume the lead with two laps to go. About that time the battle for the transfer spot got interesting as Hartranft caught Starling and Clason caught up to the back of them. Clason went up the inside pushing Hartranft wide, the latter grabbing a handful of throttle to not let him past. Clason attempted another pass on the final lap into the final corner but was unable to get around him. Out front, Wilson took the win with Moranz, Starling, and Hartranft making their way to the main event.

250SX West main event:
The holeshot went to Harrison followed by Swoll, Blose, Peters, and Lawrence. McAdoo and Hammaker were both buried deep in the pack alongside Cooper, with Cooper eventually hitting the ground and dropping to 19th on the first lap. After one lap it was Harrison, Swoll, Peters, Lawrence, Smith, and McAdoo in the top six. Hammaker hit the ground with just over 11 minutes to go, dropping back to 15th place, around that time Cooper had worked his way up to 12th. Lawrence began to pick his way through at the front, passing peters and catching the leaders quickly after. Just behind him, McAdoo had worked his way through into the top five and began to pressure the Australian. Swoll got into the side of Harrison for the lead and in the following corner, Lawrence passed the duo in one move taking the lead. As McAdoo tried to pass Swoll and Harrison through the whoops he crashed hard, dropping to 11th just behind title rival Cooper. With eight minutes to go, Lawrence had worked his way to a three-second lead over Swoll and Harrison. With Peters and Marchbanks in the top five. Thrasher then began to pressure Smith for sixth as Peters made the pass for third at the front. As the clock hit five minutes, Cooper and McAdoo began to work their way into the top 10, taking over seventh and ninth respectively, as Hammaker remained deeper in the pack in 14th place, unable to climb forward. Marchbanks made his way past Harrison for fourth as Cooper caught Smith for sixth and closed on Harrison, quickly making the pass for fifth. Out front on the final lap, Lawrence cruised to victory by nearly five seconds, to take his first win in just his sixth supercross. Second place was Swoll who took the first podium of his career, with Peters behind him taking the third podium of his career. Fourth was Marchbanks with Cooper recovering to round out the top five. Harrison took the best finish of his season in sixth with McAdoo passing his teammate in the closing stages for seventh. Smith was eighth, Blose ninth and Thrasher taking his second top 10 in as many races. Hammaker recovered to 11th and it’s worth a mention that Robertson didn’t start the race due to injury.

450SX main event:
Roczen grabbed the jump but its Webb coming through to take the holeshot. After a half of a lap it was Webb Tomac, Roczen, Sexton, and Davalos in the top five. Buried in the pack was Barcia in 16th, with Anderson dead last after the first lap. The top four began to break away, with Webb getting a bit of advantage while Roczen started pressuring Tomac for second. Plessinger ran it in on Friese for seventh place, putting Friese on the ground and subsequently collecting Friese’s teammate Tickle in the process. Barcia’s charge through the pack saw him in eighth at the 15-minute mark. At that time Tomac began to pressure Webb a bit, with Roczen dropping off about a second back of the two. Plessinger and Barcia caught Davalos who was running fifth, with Plessinger getting by with 10 minutes to go and Barcia coming by a section later. Out front at the halfway point, Webb continued to lead with just under a second advantage over Webb. Three seconds back from Webb was Roczen in third who had a 10-second advantage over teammate Sexton. A few laps later, Barcia made an aggressive but clean block pass on Plessinger for fifth and set his sights on Sexton for fourth. Anderson had worked his way into the top 10 with five minutes to go, recovering from his dismal start, while out front, Tomac put pressure on Webb before making a mistake in the whoops and giving Webb around a two-second lead, with the duo just four seconds ahead of Roczen in third. Webb’s consistent pace paid off in the closing stages, stretching out a five-second lead heading into the final lap and going on to take the checkered flag. Tomac took second with Roczen securing his first podium in four races. Fourth went to Barcia and Sexton picked up another top-five finish in fifth. Anderson salvaged a sixth-place finish after starting dead last, with Plessinger notching another top 10 behind him in seventh. A battered and bruised Ferrandis gutted out an eighth-place finish after missing most of the second qualifying practice with a crash, with Davalos grabbing ninth for his first top 10 of the year. The final spot in the top 10 went to Wilson after working his way through the LCQ to get into the main event.
