Muc-Off Honda press release:

The Muc-Off Honda Racing team did not have the Daytona they had planned for; with Justin Brayton still sidelined due to injury and Mitchel Harrison unable to start the 250 main event due to a mechanical.

Harrison positioned himself well in his heat but unfortunately wasn’t able to finish, having to make the main through the last chance qualifier (LCQ.) The team was haunted by a technical problem they thought they had corrected and as a result, Harrison didn’t line up for the main event.

“It’s racing and things happen, but this is tough on everyone. We worked out the problem in the end, but we missed the main event. We can’t let it drag us down and have turned our attention to the next round.” Harrison said.

The team’s 450 fill-in, Mitchell Oldenburg rode well in his second 450 race, qualifying for the main event through the LCQ.

“I certainly made it hard on myself, but I enjoyed racing in the 450 nonetheless. Although the LCQ gave me more bike time, I will admit all of that riding on the 450 took it out of me,” said Oldenburg.

His 15th place in the final was well earned, having only ridden the bike twice before racing it. He showed a lot of determination as he raced hard for the entire 20 minutes.

“My goal was to make the main and once I had achieved that, I wanted to be inside the top 15 so I just made it happen which was great.” Oldenburg finished.

The team heads to Arlington this weekend for round 10 with hopes of Brayton returning still in question.
