Chase Sexton’s return to Supercross action has been confirmed for Daytona following a shoulder injury sustained at Houston 2.

The 450SX rookie crashed out of the lead during the first ‘SuperTuesday’ race of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season in Houston, resulting in a contusion and strain of the right rotator cuff and scapula in his right shoulder.

The initial plan was for Sexton to return to racing at Indianapolis 3, but that never came to fruition as he needed more time to recoup. It’s evident now that he has returned to riding and training in Florida and in an announcement earlier today, Honda confirmed the Daytona Supercross will mark his first race back from injury.

“Chase Sexton continues to rehabilitate his injured shoulder from his Houston 2 crash and will not be at the final round in Orlando this weekend, but he is feeling better, back on the bike, and will return in Daytona!”

He’ll rejoin the Honda team on Saturday, 6 March at the ‘World Center of Racing’ alongside teammate Ken Roczen and 250SX West rider Hunter Lawrence, looking to pick up where he left off at the front of the field.
