Dylan Ferrandis escaped unscathed from a crash that ended his main event on Saturday during the first of two Monster Energy Supercross rounds in Orlando.

Things were off to a great start for the 450SX class rookie in the first of two main events at Camping World Stadium, a good jump off the line allowing him to settle into the top 10 early on.

His fortunes turned quickly though as the Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha rider hit the ground in a rhythm section on lap three.

“I managed to get a good start in the main and was feeling good,” Ferrandis explained. “I tried some different rhythm sections then ended up crashing.”

Following the initial impact of the crash Ferrandis was struck by another rider, a blow that ended his evening.

“I got hit by the rider next to me in the stomach and couldn’t breathe for a moment. I was okay in the end, but my race was over.”

The Frenchman’s DNF drops him to 10th overall in the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross 450SX class standings. He will return to the track this Saturday when the series continues inside Camping World Stadium.
