Sexton and Ferrandis top Jacksonville qualifying sessions

Pro Motocross championship battles to continue with WW Ranch.

450MX newcomer Chase Sexton has qualified quickest in Lucas Oil Pro Motocross at WW Ranch, as red plate-holder Dylan Ferrandis led the way in the 250 Class.

Team Honda HRC’s Sexton set the pace in both practices this morning at 2m03.209s, a second and a half clear of championship leader Zach Osborne (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna).

Third on the time-sheets was Adam Cianciarulo (Monster Energy Kawasaki), followed by Blake Baggett (Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM WPS) and Christian Craig (Team Honda HRC) inside the top five.

In 250MX, Ferrandis was also fastest in both sessions, his best stopping the clocks at 2m03.882s, marginally ahead of teammate Justin Cooper’s 2m03.885s.

The Monster Energy Star Racing Yamahas were 1-2 at the top of the charts, trailed by Derek Drake (Troy Lee Designs Red Bull KTM).

Next best were Shane McElrath (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha) and Australian Jett Lawrence (Geico Honda), whose teammate and title hopeful Jeremy Martin was in P6.
