Single qualifying sessions in rain-soaked conditions saw Eli Tomac and Chase Sexton qualify quickest in round 13 of Monster Energy Supercross at Salt Lake City.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Tomac topped 450SX at 57.629s, ahead of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna teammates Dean Wilson and Jason Anderson.

Fourth-fastest was defending champion Cooper Webb (Red Bull KTM), followed by another factory Husqvarna in Zach Osborne. Of the remaining championship contenders, Ken Roczen (Team Honda HRC) ended qualifying in eighth position this afternoon.

It was 250SX East title rivals Sexton and Shane McElrath (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha) who split their time at the top of the charts, until the Geico Honda rider finally posted a 56.016s to stay at the front.

That left McElrath second and Colt Nichols (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha) ended the lone session in third. Behind him came Garrett Marchbanks (Monster Energy Kawasaki) and Dustin Winter (EBR Performance Altus Motors KTM) from Group B.
