Latest possible end date to Pro Motocross season outlined

MX Sports Pro Racing won't postpone series beyond mid-September.

MX Sports Pro Racing has confirmed the 2020 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship won’t be postponed beyond 12 September.

The revised schedule is currently due to commence with the Florida National on 13 June and conclude at Fox Raceway on 5 September following 11 rounds.

Should the championship be postponed further, the latest it will be completed will be on that mid-September date. It is expected that Monster Energy Supercross will resume the following weekend.

“Throughout this time of motorsport shutdowns due to the coronavirus, each Monday the Race Leadership Team reviews race schedules, makes adjustments as needed and works with event organizers to reschedule events when possible,” a statement read. “In the event it is necessary to postpone the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross schedule further, it will not be postponed past September 12, 2020.”

The sport has been on hold for a full month following Daytona’s 10th round of the Supercross season so far as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
