Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Aaron Plessinger has declared Atlanta’s ninth round of Monster Energy Supercross as his best race of the season after claiming seventh in the main event.

The number seven broke through to claim his best result of the 2020 championship after capitalising on a multi-rider battle throughout the top 10, where he was able to comfortably fend off Malcolm Stewart (Smarttop Bullfrog MCR Honda).

“Atlanta was pretty good,” Plessinger stated. “It’s the best race I’ve had so far this season and we keep making forward progress. The track was gnarly. It got really rough, really rutted and the whoops broke down a lot.

“It was a really high paced race to say the least. I felt really good, but got a little off rhythm for a couple laps but got it back and was able to finish seventh. I’m pretty happy with that. We’ll go back to Florida and keep working, and head into to Daytona with high hopes.”

The series heads to Daytona International Speedway this weekend, the same venue that brought a premature end to Plessinger’s Supercross campaign in 2019.
