Geico Honda rider remounts for P19 result in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Jeremy Martin has escaped injury after taking a harsh fall during the 250SX East main event at Atlanta’s Monster Energy Supercross on Saturday night.
The Geico Honda rider made an error coming out of the sand section, which was only worsened when he landed on a tough-block that had been brought on-track by RJ Hampshire (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) just moment earlier.
Martin was suddenly thrown over the bars, however he remounted aboard his severely damaged CRF250R. Following a stop in the mechanics’ area, the number six salvaged a P19 result.
“I was excited for the main event and got off to a good start,” Martin explained. “Was patiently sitting behind Shane [McElrath] waiting to put in a late charge. The track was tricky so I knew you had to pick your spots.
“Then RJ [Hampshire] landed on a tough-block, and I unfortunately didn’t see it and boom, race over. That was pretty disappointing but at least I’m okay. Looking forward to Daytona.”
Martin’s teammate, reigning champion Chase Sexton (Geico Honda), went onto win the main event and extend his points lead.
