Defending 250SX West champion Dylan Ferrandis managed to score 12th-place points in a disastrous second round of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross season.

The Frenchman qualified fastest at St. Louis, but was struck by incidents during his heat race – in which he finished fourth – and then an early fall dashed his hopes in the final.

Ferrandis went a lap down almost immediately, however, once he got into a rhythm he clawed his way back into 12th position. That earned him 11 points in an important rebound.

“I felt really good all day,” Monster Energy Star Yamaha’s Ferrandis recalled. “The track conditions were good, too. Unfortunately we didn’t get results we were looking for.

“I don’t understand what happened on the first lap – someone crashed in front of me and I couldn’t escape it. After that, I just rode to try to save some points, but I’m pretty frustrated about that of course. It is how it is.”

After finishing second at Anaheim 1 and then salvaging 12th on the weekend, Ferrandis is fourth in the championship standings entering A1 this Saturday night, 15 points behind teammate Justin Cooper.
